This is a beautiful shrub with decorative fruits and dark green glossy foliage which remains on it till December. Its small oval leaves are regularly arranged on each side of the branches which lends beauty to it. More so, its rigid branches are arched in all directions with great regularity, branched like fish bones. Their autumnal fruiting in small red balls is spectacular. Its small pinkish-white flowers appear in May, followed by a very large number of bright red fruits from the end of September to January.
